Try Colgate Plax

I think that mouthwash is a very effective way of protecting your teeth and your gums. I have tried a number of mouthwash and I think that the best so far would be Colgate Plax. To me, it’s better than Listerine for 2 reasons.

1) No Alcohol. I think it is important that we shouldn’t be using Alcohol-based product. It is a fact that long term exposure to alcohol can potentially lead to oral sores or even oral cancer. I know that Alcohol is suppose to disinfect the mouth. However, this disinfection will also kill the good bacterias!

2) No burning sensation. This is linked to Alcohol too. I hate the feeling of that burning sensation and I was hesitant to use such product until Colgate Plax comes with a non-Alcohol version.

Quite frankly, I think it feels good using Colgate Plax. The only question that I would like to ask the readers are: Should I rinse my mouth after the mouthwash? Let me know in your comments.

Taking Proper Care of Your Teeth and Gums

Taking good care of your teeth and gums is an important part of staying healthy. Not only is tooth decay and gum disease really painful, it can lead to other health problems in your body. That’s why it is wise to pay attention to the state of your oral health in between visits to the dentist. In this article we are going to explore some of the most effective methods for caring for your gums and teeth.

A toothache is pretty much one of the more painful experiences a person can have. Bad toothaches indicate that you need to go to the dentist, but most of the time you aren’t going to get seen right away. This is when you need to find some fast relief and there are some specific remedies that can be very useful here. Clove oil is just about the best known remedy for toothaches and it’s easy to find both in pharmacies as well as in natural food stores.

Powdered cloves work just as well, just put a small pinch of them onto the area that is painful. Garlic is another toothache remedy, and is a natural antibiotic, which makes it good for treating infections. Using crushed garlic on the affected places can reduce both inflammation and pain until you are able to see your dentist. There are dozens of articles and books and websites that tell people that hydrogen peroxide and baking soda are good natural ways to clean teeth. Both baking soda and hydrogen peroxide are cheap, but if you use them too much they can become abrasive and brush away the protective enamel coating that keeps your teeth safe. It’s far healthier to choose a toothpaste that includes baking soda. Another natural oral health helper is apple cider vinegar, but again, you want to make sure you dilute it because otherwise the acidity level within it can really do damage to your teeth. Before you use anything to clean your teeth or mouth, you need to make sure that it won’t have any unintended side effects.

When focusing on your dental health, you have to remember how important your gums are. There are plenty of people who suffer from gum disease and don’t know it until it has reached very painful and advanced stages. Regular visits to your dentist will clue you in to these problems and you need to pay attention to any changes that occur in the color of your gums. There is a problem when your gums are super red or very sensitive or if they bleed when you brush your teeth.

Brushing with toothpaste that contains tea tree oil helps keep your gums very healthy. There are all sorts of different healing properties contained within tea tree oil because it is a very powerful antibiotic. Do not put undiluted tea tree oil in your mouth because it can be very irritating and hurt you quite a lot if you swallow it.

It’s not all that difficult to take great care of your mouth, but it does take regular time and effort. In addition to doing flossing and brushing every day, you should also watch what you eat and avoid those things that could harm your oral health. By keeping the above tips in mind, you can enjoy better dental health, which will be good for your whole body.

The Best Dental Hygiene You Can Have

It’s not cheap to visit the dentist. If you only get your teeth cleaned and a general checkup, you’re still looking at bill that’s often over $100. Yet postponing necessary work isn’t the solution either, as then it will cost you even more later on. If you want to reduce your dental costs, the best thing you can do is to follow some simple but effective everyday practices. These procedures are simple, fast and cheap to implement. In this article we’ll be covering some of the most effective self care procedures for your teeth. The key is to do them consistently.

Keep away from foods that can stain your teeth. Using fluoride toothpaste when brushing your teeth is a good practice. Fluoride is added to the drinking water of many states in the United States, but not all states follow that practice. However, in the states that do add fluoride to the water, the concentration isn’t high enough to take the place of a good fluoride toothpaste. Germs and bacteria will have a more difficult time taking hold of your teeth and causing problems since fluoride will coat the enamel of your tooth and bond to it. The teeth won’t have as much protection if you use a non fluoride toothpaste. With that stuff, all you’re doing is moving the germs around, not getting rid of them

Flossing your teeth should be done at least once a day, preferably at night. Not very many people like to floss. It can be hard to do because it feels so awkward and if not done often enough can also be painful. Honestly though, floss is able to get into those places that the toothbrush just can’t reach. The gums between your teeth can accumulate debris so flossing is the best way to clean between those teeth. If left unattended, this debris can harden into plaque which can then cause any number of problems. Thank goodness flossing these days can be easier than it used to be. There are pre-threaded floss “sticks” that you can buy very cheaply that makes the process a lot easier to take care of.

There was a time when dentists thought that there wasn’t anything that could be done that would help replace enamel on your teeth once it was worn away. Now, however, there are toothpastes you can use that help build up the enamel on your teeth so that you can replace what you’ve lost and make your teeth stronger than ever. It would be good practice to use these pastes once in a while so you can give your mouth the boost it needs. Using these pastes every day is something you might want to try if your teeth are particularly susceptible to decay, and if recommended by your dentist, perhaps even twice a day. Isn’t it amazing how just simple common sense can make a difference in good oral hygiene. Good teeth care doesn’t have to involve lots of expensive dental treatments or cosmetic enhancements. For the most part all that is required is to live a healthy life and keep your mouth clean and fresh. All you will likely need is basic brushing, flossing and maintaining a healthy diet. Little tips like these can help you to remember how easy it is and to help you gain even more protection.
